 Medical Dental Building 465 St. Michael's Drive Santa Fe, NM 87505  The Medical/Dental Building-465 St. Michael’s Drive, Santa Fe, New Mexico. The building was constructed in 1977 and is located strategically within the St Vincent’s Regional Medical Center’s main campus. Although the building is structurally sound, it had not kept up with technology that is required by current medical facilities. Branch Design and Development has recently finished undertaking the complex renovation of the building utilizing up-to-date technology and also capturing an additional 7000 square feet of new leasable space. The renovation program includes a new exterior finish and revised parking which will allow better access to the building.

This project consisted of the renovation and addition to a building that was built in 1977. The design challenges dealt with how to use modern materials and construction techniques in conjunction with those of thirty years ago. The construction challenges were how to implement these major changes while the building was 80% occupied. Construction included the addition of an additional 7,000 square feet, upgrade of the exterior façade and a complete renovation of the electrical and mechanical systems. Through cooperation between the developer and the tenants and strict communication procedures, the project was implemented with only minor inconveniences.
